From dragonfly to king

The King Brychan in Merthyr Tydfil reopened today after a huge refurb with a special ‘The Greatest Showman’ themed party.

The King Brychan in South Wales – previously known as The Dragonfly – reopened over the weekend after a three-week transformation and conversion from Two For One to Carvery. And what about the new name? Brychan was a legendary 5th century king of Brycheiniog in South Wales.

Inside, you’ll find everything you’d want from a family-friendly pub including brand new play equipment, a new carvery deck and special offers and discounts for families. To get ready for the relaunch, our teammates received special training to get the full lowdown on our carvery format.

To kick things off, the pub hosted an event for the whole family with songs from The Greatest Showman, a dance competition, balloon modelling, a magic show, and a magician! Entry is free and the fun will continue into the evening with live music for the adults.

Huge good luck to Paul and his team for their first few weeks.
